Avocado Chocolate Smoothie

This is similar to my power date smoothie I did a few weeks back. I have added maca powder and avocado. Avocado makes it creamy and you can’t really taste it, it is also full of healthy fats which imakes it even better. I tend to have this smoothie in the mornings or sometimes in the afternoon if I am craving something sweet. It is delicious!

Ingredients

1 banana

1/2 an avocado

3 dates

1 cup of almond milk

1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder

1 tablespoon of almond butter

1 teaspoon of maca powder ( I use organic burst)

1 scoop of Sunwarrior vegan protein powder

For the topping

Cacao nibs and strawberries

Peel the banana and avocado, remove the stone from the avocado and dates and place all the ingredients into the blender and blend till lovely and smooth. You can add some ice if you prefer it cold. Pour into a glass or bowl, add the strawberries and cacao nibs.  Enjoy!

Strawberry Smoothie

It has been so hot that all I have been having is smoothies and salads. The smoothie recipe for the week is another delicious simple one.

Ingredients

1 banana

1/2 a cup of strawberries

2 tablespoons of coyo coconut yoghurt plain or vanilla flavour

1 tablespoon quinoa flakes

1 tablespoon cashew butter

1 cup cashew milk

1 teaspoon of flaxseeds

1 scoop of vanilla sunwarrior vegan protein powder

For the topping

cacao nibs

strawberries

Coconut shavings

Peel the banana, remove the strawberry tops and place all the ingredients in the blender. Blend until smooth. Pour in a glass or bowl and top with strawberries, cacao nibs and coconut shavings. Enjoy!

 

Coffee Smoothie

I did this smoothie for all you coffee lovers. I know how you all love your coffee in the morning! Personally I have never liked coffee, especially the after taste it leaves in my mouth. I have always been more of a tea drinker. For this smoothie my choice of coffee is barley coffee. You can use dandelion or chicory coffee. If you absolutely must have your coffee by all means have real coffee. The mornings is when the body is most acidic so I will always opt for something alkalising.

Ingredients

1/2 a cup of barley coffee

1 banana

2 tablespoons of coyo coconut yoghurt

1 tsp of maca powder

1/2 a cup of coconut milk

ice

raw cacao nibs to sprinkle on top

Optional

1 scoop of Sunwarrior Vegan protein powder

Place all the ingredients except for the cacao nibs in the blender and blend until smooth. Serve with cacao nibs and enjoy!

 

 

Pina Colada

Pina colada is such a great summer drink and so easy to make. Traditional pina colada is with rum, pineapple and coconut cream. I have substituted the rum for mango.

Ingredients

120 ml coconut cream or milk

2 slices of pineapple

1/2 a mango

ice

60ml of coconut water

start by slicing the pineapple and removing the hard skin. Cut into pieces and place in the blender with the peeled mango and the rest of the ingredients. Blend until lovely and smooth. Serve with a wedge of pinapple and an umbrella. Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Strawberry Coconut Smoothie

With the warm weather I am having a smoothie everyday. They are so easy and quick to make, especially if you do not have much time in the mornings. This smoothie is truly delicious. I just love coconut!

Ingredients

1 cup of strawberries

1 banana

1 can of light coconut milk

2 tablespoons of coyo coconut yoghurt plain flavour

1 scoop Sunwarrior vanilla vegan protein powder

Ice

Optional

Top with bee pollen and chia seeds

Place all the ingredients into the blender and blend until lovely and smooth. Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

 

Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

I did another delicious recipe with my sister. This time we created a chocolate smoothie bowl. This makes a  great post work out smoothie and it is seriously delicious! Banana and Date Power Smoothie

This smoothie is so divine. It tastes like a chocolate milkshake. It is perfect for when I am craving something sweet.

Ingredients

1 banana

3 dates

1 cup of almond milk

1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder

1 tablespoon of cashew butter (you can also use almond butter)

1 scoop of Sunwarrior vegan protein powder

Place all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. It is as easy as that.  Add some ice if you prefer it cold and enjoy!
